A Real Estate Brokerage Built for Texas Teams & Team Leaders

By Jeremy Williams, Founder and Expansion Partner, JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate · Updated

In Short: Is JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate a Good Fit for Real Estate Teams?

JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate is built for Texas teams that want to keep their own brand, set their own internal splits, own their database, choose their own technology, and recruit their own agents, with no additional fee simply for operating as a team. Team leaders and team members get optional coaching with Jeremy Williams, access to Omnia Elevate and JLA Realty training, broker support, compliance and CDA processing, and room to expand across Texas. Team economics vary by structure, so established teams discuss terms confidentially with leadership.

You’ve already built something. A brand. A database. Systems. Production. A reputation. Maybe an entire real estate team. So if you’re considering a move, the real question isn’t “What’s your commission split?” It’s: What happens to everything I’ve built if I move?

The people of JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate.

Will you keep control of your team? Can you keep your brand? Who owns your database? Can you use your own technology? Can you recruit your own agents? Will you be forced into someone else’s systems? Will your brokerage help develop your agents, or just create more work for you? Can you expand into new markets? And most important of all: will your next brokerage help you build what’s next without getting in your way?

Those are the questions experienced team leaders should be asking. JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate is built to give Texas real estate teams something increasingly valuable: a large sandbox to build in. You bring the vision. Let’s help you build it.

What Is JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate?

Why Real Estate Teams Choose JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate

There isn’t one reason teams make a move. Every team I’ve worked with has been different: different production, structures, internal splits, personalities, challenges, and goals. Financial savings are one of the biggest reasons teams initially explore us, but that’s only part of the conversation.

When an established team considers joining, JLA Realty Broker/Owner John Altic and I want to understand how the team actually operates. What’s working? What’s not? How is the team structured? Where are the expenses? What are the internal compensation arrangements? Where does the team leader want to take the business? We aren’t interested in forcing a successful organization into a predetermined box. We look for a win-win.

Your Team. Your Brand.

One of the biggest concerns established teams have when changing brokerages is what happens to the brand they’ve spent years building. At JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate, we encourage you to keep building it. You don’t become “The Omnia Elevate Smith Team.” Omnia Elevate branding isn’t required on your consumer-facing marketing. Your team keeps its identity while complying with applicable TREC advertising requirements and JLA Realty policies.

You can continue developing your team name, logo, website, social media, marketing, database, systems, client experience, technology, culture, and brand identity. We want your team to become more valuable, not ours at the expense of yours.

More Freedom. Less Unnecessary Bureaucracy.

Experienced team leaders don’t need another organization telling them how to run every part of their business. You need room to lead. Teams can develop their own training, meetings, accountability systems, lead distribution, technology stack, marketing, team standards, internal compensation structures, recruiting processes, culture, and systems.

We’re still a licensed Texas real estate brokerage. Compliance matters, ethics matter, TREC rules matter, and JLA Realty policies matter. Freedom doesn’t mean anything goes. But I don’t believe in creating bureaucracy for its own sake, and agents and teams shouldn’t be forced into committees, conferences, or paid events that don’t contribute to what they’re building. Your primary responsibility should be building a great real estate business and serving your clients.

Can Real Estate Teams Create Their Own Commission Splits?

Yes. Team leaders have discretion over their internal compensation structures with team members, including buyer agents, listing specialists, and other roles, subject to applicable laws and brokerage requirements. Team leads provide their team agreement to me so we understand how the organization is structured. Because established teams vary so much in size, production, compensation, and model, we don’t advertise one universal team arrangement. Established teams are encouraged to have a confidential conversation with me and JLA Realty leadership about their structure and needs. The objective is a structure that creates a win for the team and for JLA Realty.

Are There Extra Fees Just Because You’re a Team?

There isn’t an additional fee simply because you operate as a team within JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate. Your specific team economics and applicable cap arrangement should be discussed with leadership, because established team structures vary. For a productive team considering a move, don’t just compare advertised splits. Calculate what your organization actually pays each year in commission splits, transaction fees, E&O fees, royalty fees, franchise fees, technology fees, office fees, administrative fees, training and coaching, and other brokerage expenses.

We’ve had teams discover significant savings simply by eliminating fees that were quietly accumulating transaction after transaction. The goal isn’t necessarily the cheapest brokerage; it’s whether the money you pay is creating enough value for your team. You can run your numbers on the Commission & Fees page.

Your Database Belongs to Your Team

This should be clear before you ever join a brokerage. Your team’s leads and contacts belong to your team. JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate doesn’t want ownership of your database simply because you affiliate with us. If someday your team decides to leave, your database doesn’t suddenly become ours. If your team uses the optional BoldTrail platform available through JLA Realty, you’ll work with BoldTrail to properly export your information before terminating the account. You built the relationships, so you own the relationships.

Build the Technology Stack That Works for Your Team

We’re not going to force a productive team to dismantle a technology ecosystem that’s already working. Your team can build and maintain its own stack: CRM, website, lead generation, lead routing, transaction tools, accountability software, marketing systems, automation, and AI. If you already have the technology you want, keep using it. If you want to explore resources available through JLA Realty, including the optional BoldTrail platform, you can do that too. Technology should serve your business; your business shouldn’t exist to serve your brokerage’s technology.

Recruit, Train, and Retain Your Own Talent

Team leaders need the ability to build. At JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate, team leaders can recruit, train, and retain their own team members. When you add someone, our onboarding team and I help get that agent properly established. And you don’t have to personally provide every piece of development your agents need. Your team members can plug into the training and development already available through Omnia Elevate and JLA Realty, which takes weight off the team leader.

Stop Being Your Team’s Only Trainer

Team leaders often become responsible for everything: recruiting, training, coaching, problem solving, lead generation, accountability, compliance questions, culture, and production. And somehow they’re supposed to sell real estate too. That’s not leverage. That’s another job. The point of our model is simple: you keep leading your team, and Omnia Elevate and JLA Realty help carry the weight.

We’re not trying to run your team. We’re giving you leverage to lead it.

Team members can participate in the S.O.A.R. Mastermind, the weekly Omnia Elevate Organization Call, THRIVE training, broker-led calls such as the M.A.D. Call, the Contracts Boot Camp, and online and in-person training on the training calendar. Participation is voluntary. Team leaders can still create and conduct all the proprietary training they want. We’re not replacing your leadership; we’re adding another layer of resources so you don’t have to build everything yourself.

Coaching Isn’t Just for Your Agents

Sometimes the person who needs a coach most is the person everyone else comes to for answers: the team leader. Coaching with me is available to Omnia Elevate team leaders without an additional coaching fee, and it’s always optional. Topics might include mindset, scaling, leverage, systems, DISC and behavioral styles, leadership, team-member relationships, hiring, accountability, difficult conversations, profitability, role development, and growth strategy.

Sometimes a team leader just needs somewhere to work through a situation before walking into a difficult conversation. You can schedule a Zoom coaching conversation with me. We’ll talk through what’s happening, examine your options, and I’ll challenge your thinking when necessary. Then you step back into the leadership role with greater clarity and confidence. I’m here to support your leadership, not replace it.

I Will Not Undermine the Team Leader

If your agents have access to me for training and coaching, you shouldn’t have to worry that I’m trying to become their team leader. I’m not. My relationship with the team is built on trust and integrity. The team leader leads the team; my role is supportive. If an ethical issue, Code of Ethics concern, or situation involving harm arises, it must be handled appropriately. Otherwise, my goal is to walk alongside the team leader and strengthen their leadership.

Your Team Members Can Receive Coaching Too

Coaching isn’t reserved for the team leader. Members of your team can participate as well. That’s another layer of development you can offer your agents without personally creating and delivering every coaching conversation. An agent may need help with mindset, business planning, activities, systems, accountability, or growth. Your team still provides its leadership and culture; Omnia Elevate simply gives them another place to grow.

Should You Add Another Agent or Fix the Business First?

One of the biggest mistakes I see team leaders make is assuming growth means adding more people. It doesn’t. Sometimes the answer is another agent. Sometimes it’s better systems, reducing expenses, improving lead conversion, or putting existing people into better roles. Sometimes the team leader needs to stop doing administrative work and return to dollar-producing activities. Before you add another person, we can talk through the real questions: What problem are you actually trying to solve? Does this role need to exist? Can the business financially support it? What activities should this person own? What does success in the role look like? Are you hiring because someone fits the role, or simply because you like them? Headcount doesn’t automatically create profit.

The Biggest Mistakes I See Real Estate Team Leaders Make

After years of coaching agents and working around real estate organizations, a few patterns show up again and again:

  • Growing too fast. More agents can create more complexity faster than they create more profit.
  • Not controlling cost of sale. Revenue looks great until you understand what it costs to generate it.
  • Leveraging the wrong activities. Not every task should be delegated simply because you can.
  • Too much administrative work. The leader gets buried in $20-an-hour tasks while neglecting the activities only they can perform.
  • Hiring people you like rather than people who fit the role. A great person isn’t automatically the right person for every seat.

Which leads to a principle I believe strongly: you need the right people in the right seats on the bus.

Speed of the leader, speed of the pack.

A healthy real estate team starts with strong leadership. You can’t expect your agents to grow beyond the environment you’re creating for them. And just as a successful real estate business is built through relationships, so is a successful team. Know your people. Understand their goals. Hold standards. Have the difficult conversations. Celebrate wins. Create opportunities. Put people in roles where they can succeed. The goal isn’t to build the biggest team; it’s to build a healthy business filled with the right people.

Are You a Successful Solo Agent Who Wants to Build a Team?

You don’t need to arrive at Omnia Elevate with a team. If you’re an established solo producer thinking about building one, I’ll coach with you about whether a team actually makes sense. Then we can work through what you want the team to accomplish, why you’re building it, the first role you should add, compensation, systems, leverage, leadership, activities, culture, and growth. Sometimes the right answer is: don’t build one yet. A team should solve a problem or help accomplish a specific vision. It shouldn’t just become another expense because someone told you successful REALTORS® are supposed to have teams.

Can My Real Estate Team Expand Across Texas?

Yes. Teams within JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate aren’t limited to one city. JLA Realty operates across Texas and participates in MLS markets throughout much of the state, which gives ambitious team leaders room to think beyond one neighborhood or market. If your team is based in Houston and you eventually want to recruit talent in another Texas market, let’s talk about it; teams within our organization are already pursuing geographic expansion. See our Texas locations. You don’t necessarily have to open your own independent brokerage just because your vision has grown beyond your original market.

The Advantage of JLA Realty’s Texas Infrastructure

This is where JLA Realty and Omnia Elevate work particularly well together. Omnia Elevate is an organization I lead within JLA Realty, and JLA Realty provides the brokerage infrastructure. Unlike franchise systems where offices may operate under separate ownership, JLA Realty operates under a unified brokerage structure in Texas, which can create meaningful advantages for teams growing across markets. Members can access JLA Realty training, Omnia Elevate training, brokerage leadership, compliance infrastructure, multiple office locations, meeting space for clients, office resources, black-and-white and color copy codes at JLA Realty offices at no additional charge, and a statewide network of real estate professionals. That combines the entrepreneurial freedom of building your own brand with the infrastructure of a larger Texas brokerage.

What Does Omnia Elevate Add to JLA Realty?

That’s a fair question: why not simply join JLA Realty? For the people who choose Omnia Elevate, one of the primary differences is leadership and development. I spent years in leadership positions with a national real estate brand, including coaching that received national recognition. I later worked with one of the country’s largest real estate expansion teams, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, where I operated its South Texas region. Those experiences shaped how I think about leadership, expansion, coaching, systems, teams, and agent development, and they formed the foundation for what I built with Omnia Elevate. Today I intentionally don’t compete in personal real estate production. I coach. I train. I lead. I help agents and team leaders figure out what’s next.

What Happens If a Team Member Leaves Your Team?

Your team agreement matters. If an agent leaves your team, obligations involving pending transactions, team-generated business, data, and other responsibilities are governed by the applicable team agreement and brokerage requirements. That’s why team leaders should have a clear written agreement before problems arise. If the departing agent remains in good standing, they may have the opportunity to stay with JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate as a solo agent; as of October 2026, the standard solo-agent structure is an 80/20 split with a $10,000 annual cap, subject to change. The goal isn’t to create unnecessary drama. It’s to respect the agreements everyone made.

What Happens If Your Entire Team Leaves JLA Realty?

You should ask this before you join us. If someday your team decides JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate is no longer the right home, active listings that aren’t under contract can generally transfer with you after the appropriate documentation is completed. Your team’s database remains yours. There isn’t an exit strategy built around taking your contacts hostage. If you’re using BoldTrail, you’ll coordinate with BoldTrail on the proper export of your team’s data. Why would I tell a prospective team this? Because I don’t want you staying because you’re trapped. I want you staying because we’re providing value.

A real team. A real result.

One of the things I enjoy most about building Omnia Elevate is watching what happens when things start clicking. Recently, one of our team leaders shared that in a single 30-day period, the team generated more than $130,000 in capped commission, more than they’d ever made in a 30-day period before. That’s not a plaque or a recruiting statistic. That’s potentially life-changing, and that’s what excites me: helping people accomplish something they hadn’t accomplished before.

One team’s experience. Results vary, are not typical, and are not promised or guaranteed.

Who Is Not a Good Fit for JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate?

We’re a growth organization, which means we’re not right for everybody. If you believe you already know everything there is to know, if you’re unwilling to learn, if you don’t want to be challenged, or if you’re completely satisfied staying exactly where you are, we probably aren’t the right organization for you. Omnia Elevate exists to support growth, and growth isn’t limited to transaction count: business, leadership, relationships, finances, time, and life. Success means something different to every person. But you have to want to grow.

“I’ve Spent Years Building This Team. Why Should I Trust You With It?”

I’m not asking you to trust me simply because I’m sitting across the table from you. I’m asking you to look at what has been built. Before I tell you why you should bring your team here, I want to know something else: share with me your goals and dreams. Where do you want this team to go? What do you want it to become? What do you want your life to look like because you built it? And if you bring your team to JLA Realty – Omnia Elevate and I can help you move the needle toward those goals, would it be worth taking that step and doing the journey together? Then I’d ask one more question: when was the last time your current broker asked you that? When you’re ready, Switching to JLA Realty explains how the move works.

Ready to Talk About What’s Next for Your Team?

You don’t need another generic recruiting presentation. Bring me your current structure, team size, production, expenses, internal splits, systems, challenges, and your vision. Let’s talk about where your team is today and where you want it to go. Maybe there’s an opportunity to save money, develop your agents, strengthen your leadership through coaching, or use JLA Realty’s infrastructure to expand. And maybe we’re not the right fit; that’s okay too. If there’s a win-win, let’s explore it.
